In Florals – French Bouquet

A Gift

un cadeau

Today is a gift….
. Beautiful and free

This morning i was awakened by the song of birds and the early sun
rising over the ridge to say hello through my window. It seemed-the morning was asking me to remember this, remember to breath and take in the moments that await you….

Today is a gift and within it holds Freedom…. a chance to leave a lasting touch on this couples beginning, to create, interact with others, to take in the happiness within Love & Freedom.

Love is Such a beautiful gift

What I love about weddings is the momentum – the process of building a celebration from the first meeting and sharing ideas, dreams, images and emotions  — to the actual day of prep, loading, unloading, calculated structures – the MacGyver thought moments –  “how are we going to hang this heavy fabric from a tree?” Its the muscle and grit of actually creating it all on the day and succeeding to tell another love story. I am – as some of you may already know – a sucker for ceremonies. I savor the moments of IDo’s

and i relish in the captured moments of fulfilled vision, future dreams, a spin on the dance floor and the last cheer of the night.

“I fell in love hard” she said, “I knew it when i first laid eyes on him. He captured my heart and mind and i was gone”

“She is my first thought in the morning and my last thought as i lay my head down on my pillow, i am completely unfettered around her, but all together myself with her by my side. I look for her face in a crowd and listen for her sound across the room.”

This had to be the cutest guest sign in idea

Weddings are my thing…i love them, create and breath into them.

and after all the details are in place,,,my heart and soul loves to linger in the moments…you will find me deep in thought and in need of peace & quiet to reflect upon creating, gathering & styling. I love to escape with a glass of wine in hand and candles glowing, we (pepper, tedders and Jim) hang out in my hubs surf hut, take a load off, reflect and breath the gift of this day. Watch the sun go down and dream.
Cheers!

This business is a funny little machine that runs on imagination, creativity, strong people skills, ability to move quickly, a strong back, bucket love or hate for that matter, the ability to prepare the most awesome tool box
tape?- check, pins?- check, tire fix it kit?- check, coffee?-uhhh, 32oz. check!

and always…Always be prepared for the unseen…
 {rain, flower death, electrical mishaps, traffic and your occasional family feuds}

And with all those things that run and keep this business going,,,its the families,
friends, Mother’s & Daughters that inspire me.

I have had the amazing blessing to be welcomed into the inner circle of  families on one of their most triumphant moments, finding myself a witness to the covered emotions waiting to explode at the moment of giving a daughter away and gaining a son, or vice versa—filled with hopes by this beauty of celebrating love
. Each family has left a lasting vivid impression

The Bride- Stunning
The Groom – Stunned
The Party – Outstanding
Me – Tired but elated

This past weekend brought the close of a celebration of a family, that I have come
to adore. Their daughter married a sweetheart of a man and their future is huge! To let you know what type of love these two have, they chose to visit the hospital with me, one day after their ceremony, to hand out flowers to patients going through chemotherapy treatment.  Each person that came in contact with them today, were touched by their beginning as husband and wife….to stop and bless others, when; this, their moment to be all consumed by eachother and Maui, didn’t seem to matter at this moment.

All because a boy fell in love with a girl and we all stood back in awe.

Visiting ST. Josephs Hospital, arms filled with their wedding flowers and hearts full of compassion.

Have you ever attended a wedding…in hopes that it wouldn’t end?
Everything was beautiful…the couple and their love for one another, their kids capturing the essence of true love- beholden before them, the glow of a huge heart behind the sweetheart table, flickering candles and the flowers….
fresh and lush…hmmm,
that was an unbiased opinion – by the way;
and the whole wedding tucked away..
. back in a meadow, quiet and romantic, dark and secluded,
perched a top the green landscape of Strawberry Farms,
 Michelle Johnson Photography
in the background…working her magic – capturing all the details, the smell of champagne and good wine,,,,laughter and love filled the air….
it all added together, slowly and then all at once it was here…just like falling in love can be.
I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
